To be fair, i think it can take a very long time for a company to design and build something from completely ground up and that's fine. The 1000 hp GTR drive was 10 years ago when I was still exploring with cars.Ĭareful there, took lexus 10 years on the lfa as well Mind you I drive the 458 recently when I am really jaded with cars now. I never got that feeling from a 1000 hp GTR, it was just "damn this thing pull so hard, it is scary, I better not crash it". The sounds combine with enough hp makes it the total package, I was giggling with happiness and pleasure uncontrollably. Then I started driving Ferrari as the used ones are getting cheaper, 355, 360, 430, FF.then recently a 458 with a loud exhaust, THAT IS IT, the total package. It just goes from pulling hard to scary, it never had that WOW this is fun feeling. they pulls harder and harder as the power goes up, but still there is something that is missing to complete the experience. When I was young, I thought power and acceleration is everything, so I kept going after it, owned a 500 hp GTR and a 350 hp WRX STi, both are fun to drive, but got boring quickly, so I tried other people's car.500 hp STi, 550 EVO, 600 hp RX7, 650 hp Supra, 700 hp GTR, 800 hp GTR, 1000 hp Mustang, 1000 hp GTR. Not so specialYes exactly, no warm and fuzzy feeling, always feels like is missing something, is a little cold. In the GT-R I kept looking at the window switches pulled from the Altima. We also got an invite from a local Ferrari dealer and we drove the California - not everyones favorite, but that aural excitment is nothing short of breathtaking. In comparison I took my dad for his birthday to a race day event and drove the 458 and Gallardo. We took in a 700hp GT-R as trade (guy got a LS F-Sport) and yes it was blistering quick but It didn't feel anything special to me. The GT-R (much like the Toyobaru triplets) have always left me cold. I was looking for the words but this sums it up nice.
